Our History

Staffordshire Providers Association (SPA) was established in 2005 as a means of engaging with the education and skills sector in Staffordshire. During the next 10 years SPA adapted to meet the demands and needs of providers in this fast-changing sector.

Skills Staffordshire included the majority of Colleges and Universities in Staffordshire, Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and 13 members of SPA to collaborate and provide resources.

The Staffordshire Partnership for Employment and Skills (SPES) brought together the strengths of Skills Staffordshire and Staffordshire Providers Association in 2021 to form a single partnership organisation that fully articulates and represents the interests of education, skills and the sector.

In 2024, we became the Staffordshire Providers Network - a responsive skills delivery partnership, forming a strong voice for our members across the region, closely aligned with other regional and national networks.

We pride ourselves in working closely with our strategic partner members including Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Membership of Staffordshire Providers Network is open to all employment and skills delivery partners and associated organisations in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.
